
Nadia Taylor – Integrity at Work Programme Manager
Nadia manages the Integrity at Work (IAW) Programme. Before coming to TI Ireland, Nadia spent a number of years working for non-profit organisations in London. She ran the learning and training programmes at community organising charity, Citizens UK and prior to that, she worked at a prison rehabilitation charity and a cultural education charity where she gained broad experience in operations, finance, fundraising and event management. Her interests lie in cultivating strong stakeholder relationships and organising meaningful and informative events. Nadia holds a BA (Hons) in Drama and Theatre studies from University College Cork as well as a Diploma in Event Management and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship.

John Devitt – Chief Executive, Transparency International Ireland
John is an ethics and communications specialist by training. He holds a first-class Masters degree in Ethics from Dublin City University, is a graduate of European Studies at the University of Limerick and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland. John founded TI Ireland in 2004 and has led TI Ireland’s whistleblowing research and support programme since 2009. He is author or researcher on numerous reports and guidance on the topic of whistleblower protection, ethics and anti-corruption standards, and has advised the Irish Government, United Nations, Council of Europe, and European Commission amongst others on whistleblowing legislation and procedures.

Donncha Ó Giobuin – Senior Speak Up Helpline, Transparency International Ireland
Donncha is a coordinator on the Speak Up Helpline. A media and communications professional by training, Donncha graduated with a B.A in Journalism from Dublin City University and has a Professional Certificate in Whistleblowing Law and Policy from NUI Maynooth. He joined the TI movement as a helpline volunteer in August 2014 and has previously worked as a researcher for Newstalk Radio and as a presenter for Radio na Life, Dublin’s Irish language radio station.

Paul D Maier BL – Specialises in the law of work, labour and employment
Paul has been a member of the Law Library since his call in 2022. He is a specialist in the law of work, labour and employment. He is editor of the Irish Employment Law Journal and the Employment Law Report, and Treasurer of the Employment Bar Association. He is an Associate trainer and facilitator for Transparency International Ireland’s Integrity at Work programme.

Dr Lauren Kierans BL – Assistant Professor of Law, Maynooth University
Dr Lauren Kierans BL is an Assistant Professor in Law at Maynooth University where she has designed and delivers the LLB module ‘Whistleblowing Law and Practice’, the LLM module the ‘Whistleblowing Law Clinic’, and the ‘Professional Certificate in Whistleblowing Law, Practice and Policy’. Lauren is a co-founder and the Director of Education at the European Whistleblowing Institute (‘EWI’). Her research area is focused on whistleblowing law and she recently published the second edition of the Annotated Statute of the Protected Disclosures Act 2014.

Rory Treanor – Barrister specialising in Employment Law and Workplace Investigations
Rory is a barrister working in the Employment Law section of An Garda Síochána. Before joining the public service, Rory worked in Employment litigation and the conduct of sensitive workplace investigations, disciplinary hearings and appeals. Rory has taught for the Law Society and CIPD. He has written policy papers for political parties and non-governmental organisations in the areas of transparency, anti-corruption and employee rights. In addition, Rory has provided training to employers, employees and their representatives regarding practice and procedure before the Workplace Relations Commission and Labour Court. He has also advised legislators on the implementation of the Whistleblower’s Directive.
Donal O’Connor – Solicitor, Transparency Legal Advice Centre
Donal is a solicitor of 23 years experience, and held roles as a risk manager and compliance officer in the banking industry intensely dealing with regulatory compliance and risk. He has engaged with regulatory and supervisory authorities, and has experience in employment litigation, workplace investigations, the WRC, and the management of HR issues, policies and procedures. Donal is a graduate of University College Galway, and also holds an international qualification in Data Protection. As a solicitor in the Transparency Legal Advice Centre, Donal advises clients on Protected Disclosures.

Kate Kenny – Professor at University of Galway, Exec MBA Programme Director

Dr Taymi Milán Paradela – Postdoctoral Researcher
Taymi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Galway whose work bridges public policy, whistleblower protection, and organizational behavior. Her research examines how institutions design and govern reporting systems to safeguard those who disclose wrongdoing, with a particular focus on gender, intersectionality, and ethics in governance. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Ecuador) and master’s degrees in Policies and Practices for Development, International Relations, and Law from the Geneva Graduate Institute and the University of Havana. Over the past fifteen years, she has combined academic research with teaching, institutional leadership, and consultancy for international organizations, contributing to initiatives on governance, social accountability, and equality policy. At the University of Galway, her current research investigates how time, digital infrastructures, and legal frameworks shape fairness, trust, and protection in whistleblowing processes across Europe. Her work also explores the public policy instruments that influence reporting behavior and institutional responses to corruption, aiming to strengthen integrity and accountability within public organizations.

Marie Terracol – Whistleblower Protection Lead, Transparency International
Marie is the Whistleblower protection Lead at Transparency International, a global movement working in over 100 countries to end the injustice of corruption. She leads Transparency International’s policy work on whistleblowing and coordinates the movement’ advocacy efforts to improve the protection of whistleblowers across the world, so that they can safely speak up about corruption and other wrongdoing. Marie participated in the working group that developed the ISO 37002:2021 Whistleblowing management systems — Guidelines and is the author of Transparency International Internal Whistleblowing Systems – Best Practice Principles for Public and Private Organisations (2022). She authored several other Transparency International publications on whistleblowing, including A Best Practice Guide for Whistleblowing Legislation (2018), Building on the EU Directive for Whistleblower Protection – Analysis and Recommendations (2019).

Dr Bashir Alao – Hardiman Research Scholar/Graduate Teaching Assistant, University of Galway
Bashir is a postdoctoral researcher in the Discipline of Management at the University of Galway. His research expertise sits at the intersection of organisational ethics, governance and sustainability. His work is characterised by a strong comparative and qualitative approach, examining how policies and systems can foster transparency, integrity and justice within organisations. His doctoral research developed a novel theory (Retaliation Paradox Theory) for a sustainable, protective and independent whistleblowing anti-corruption model through a cross-country study and integrating organisational justice and power relations theories. This work used case law, interviews and a global qualitative survey to explore how legislation and incentives can create a culture where employees can speak out against wrongdoing. He’s an experienced auditor, compliance expert, chartered accountant (Nigeria & the UK) and has authored and co-authored several articles on Whistleblowing, Corruption, Ethics, Auditing, and ethical HRM.

Mary Inman – Lawyer and Partner, Whistleblower Partners LLP
Mary is a partner in the San Francisco office of Whistleblower Partners LLP and a veteran whistleblower lawyer, having worked exclusively representing whistleblowers for the past 26 years under the increasing array of U.S. and international whistleblower reward programs. Mary has helped her clients, including Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz and Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, forge partnerships with the various government agencies that leverage whistleblower information to expose corporate fraud. Mary is an internationally recognized expert on the extraterritorial reach of the U.S. whistleblower reward programs and a regular commentator on all things whistleblower for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, BBC, FT, Fortune and Time.

Dr Alexander Chance – Head of Policy and Research, Transparency International Ireland
Alexander leads TI Ireland’s programmes on anti-corruption, illicit finance and political integrity, and is co-convenor of TI’s global working group on corruption and organised crime. A specialist in strategic and policy responses to transnational crime and corruption, he has over 20 years’ experience working on these issues internationally within law enforcement and civil society. Alexander holds a PhD and MPhil in International Peace Studies from Trinity College Dublin and a BA in Law and Politics from Durham University. He is a Senior Fellow with the Azure Forum for Contemporary Security Strategy and an Associate Fellow with RUSI’s Organised Crime and Policing group.
