Strengthening Integrity in Irish Charities: Free 2025 Whistleblowing Workshops and Exclusive Membership Offer

Transparency International Ireland’s Integrity at Work (IAW) programme is now offering Irish charities a series of complimentary workshops throughout 2025, alongside five free IAW memberships. Co-funded by the European Union, this initiative is designed to deepen understanding of Ireland’s whistleblowing law and instil best practice principles for dealing with protected disclosures in civil society organisations.

The Integrity at Work (IAW) programme was developed by TI Ireland to equip employers with the training, tools and guidance needed to foster workplaces where people feel supported to raise concerns of wrongdoing and act with integrity.

What’s Included

These fully online workshops, running from March through October, will cover:

  • The duties of charities under the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 (as amended 2022)
  • Practical steps for receiving, assessing and managing disclosures
  • An overview of statutory guidance and TI Ireland’s “Speaking Up Safely” resources

Each session is delivered live via Zoom, with dates confirmed upon registration.

Exclusive Membership Offer

In addition to the training , five charities will receive a complimentary year-long IAW membership, sponsored by CERV, as part of the Strengthening and Fostering Enabling Environment (SAFE) for Whistleblowers Project.

IAW Membership Benefits include:

  • Access to peer learning and networking forums
  • Early briefings on legal developments
  • Invitations to IAW events and training
  • Practical tools to help foster ethical workplaces where staff feel empowered to speak up

This is a unique opportunity for Irish charities to strengthen integrity with their organisations – at no cost.

The workshops will address the following questions:

  • What are the duties of Irish charities under the amended Protected Disclosures legislation?
  • How will Irish charities be required to respond to and manage reports/disclosures?
  • What support and resources are available to both workers and employers?

Previous participants in these workshops said:

“As a compliance function, I will update policy and procedure as a result of attending this workshop.”

““Great training that imparted knowledge needed by experts.”

The next workshop will take place on Tuesday 17 June from 9:30 – 12:30
